Menjangan Island

Type:

Island (~1.5km x 800m), walls, particularly rugged.

Access:

4 hours by car from Padang Bai. Small boats take us over from Bali to the island (25min).

Coral:

Good variety and a fair number of hard corals, unfortunately some dead coral patches destroyed by either dynamite fishing or damaged by sea stars (crown of thorn).

Fish:

Good numbers of tropical reef fish and turtles. On occasion sharks, eagle rays and manta rays.

Current:

None or very slight, easy dive site, perfect conditions for beginners.

Visibility:

25-40m (May-October). Very good snorkeling.

Note:

This dive site is far away from Padang Bai, therefore we offer Menjangan as a two day dive safari only.

Highlight:

Overhanging walls, excellent visibility and a very good chance of seeing turtles.
