Blue Lagoon Dive Site (Padang Bai)

Type:

Shallow coastal reef (max 25m), slope, short wall. Good snorkeling.

Access:

By boat, just a minute from Padang Bai's harbor, 5 minutes walk over the hill from Geko Dive to the beach.

Coral:

Good variety of hard and soft corals, lots of feather stars, huge coral boomies (elephant coral) and table corals.

Fish:

Good number. Oriental sweet lips, moray eels, napoleon wrasses, turtles, giant flatheads, lion fish, octopus, cuttlefish and leaf scorpion fish.

High chance (75%) of seeing sharks (white or black tip and bamboo)

Current:

Mild to moderate (strong when full/new moon) good conditions for beginners.

Visibility:

25m+ (best June-October).

Note:

Dive conditions are best in the morning (9:00am).

Highlight:

The night dive, lots of big freaky crabs, lobster and yes, almost every night in the Blue Lagoon, we have the Spanish dancer.
