About Us
First of all, why GEKO DIVE, what has a geko to do with diving? Everybody knows that gekos are not good swimmers and definitely not divers. Gekos are more often seen climbing up walls and ceilings in a dry environment. (Be happy if you have them in your bungalow - they'll prevent you being eaten by mosquitoes as insects are their favorite dish!)
The name was created after a dive at Bali’s east coast. At some dive spots the current can be very strong and parts of the dive we had to hold on to rocks, creeping along the walls like gekos, in order not to be flushed away by the drift. Sitting and talking together in the evening after that hard pounding diving adventure and having some inspiring drinks, the name Geko Dive was born.
Geko Dive was opened in June 1997 and is now very well established. We have
been a PADI Resort since 1998, and are now a 5 Star PADI Resort.
Fortunately we have one of Bali's best dive staff (English/German/Dutch speaking). All excellent divers, with years of working experience in Bali's dive industry and still wild about diving. Working together has always been fun and also serene. To make sure that it stays this way we are not planning to get bigger than we are now.
Our philosophy is that diving should be an individual experience, we therefore keep dive groups small, with divers of the same level together. We believe in the ultimate diving adventure for all our guests with utmost enjoyment and safety.

We strongly believe that divers have a responsibility to the underwater environment and we try to help preserve and care for the environment in as many ways as we can. Please see our conservation and education programs for more information.
Our philosophy of trying to create employment opportunities in the local community is evident in the level of service that you will receive when you are here. You will never have to carry a tank, set or clean your equipment while you are diving with us. All for highly competitive rates.
